Well, the High School Musical 4 rumors are now starting to blast off. PopCrunch is reporting that Disney is toying with the idea of a HSM4 and they are willing to offer Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron a huge pay day if they will sign on reprising their roles on High School Musical 4: The College Years.
The National Enquirer is saying the the film would be about Gabriella and Troy attending different universities. They then start missing each other and reunite at their old High School, which would then trigger a ton of flashback scenes, keeping the budget for the movie low.
Wildcats, Do you think that HSM 4: The College Years would be another great sequel??

it would depend on how hsm3 ends, but i doubt it would be good but i think all hsm films should end with the third. so i hope they have a good happy ending for troy and gabriella and all
ya if there is a 4 then it will be about the three new characters. thats basically why they cast three new characters. the original 6 arre done
I really don't know. I'm a huge fan of HSM, but I think that is enough. Who said that to was Zac, Vanessa, even Ashley.
I think they should make an happy ending and finito! I really like them, but it will make people an expecially fans bored. However, I will whatever the actors choose to do.

They could always have some of it be flashbacks, but the rest of it be all new; allowing for new songs and stuff like that.
It could work if they still had enough new stuff to keep us interested.
It will become a little bit annoyed for others, but it's OK for me if they really come back in that one=]
I think Troy and Gabriella's adventures need to end with HSM3. We need to see a movie about the three sophomores and their continuing adventures at East High.
It's very stupid idea. HIGH SCHOOL musical happens in HIGH SCHOOL, not in college. And I think HSM3 won't be as fantastic as HSM1, HSM2 wasn't. And I don't think that HSM3 will be better than HSM2. If they made HSM4, it would be a terrible movie.

i think the college years is a fabulous idea but thats as far as they could go with the hsm idea. otherwise they will have pushed it too far!

I think it's risky. I really enjoyed HSM1 and HSM2 and am eagerly awaiting HSM3 but if they do HSM4 they REALLY have to be creative. It would stink just to slap together a movie just for the sake of doing another one. "IF", and this is a VERY BIG "if", Zac and Vanessa decide to do it I'm sure they wouldn't do a movie that could hurt there budding careers. I don't like the idea of flashbacks already, that's cutting corners to me. HSM1 & 2 are movies that you can watch again and again so I hope that HSM3 is of the same caliber!!!
As long as Ashley's in it (which it doesn't specify if she is) I'll watch it. Otherwise I think this would be a horrible mistake.

WOW! THERE IS NO HSM4 WITH THE ORIGINAL CAST!!! They already said they want to do another one (they being the choreographer Chuckie Klapow and the director Kenny Ortega) but it's NOT containing the original cast.. they GRADUATED! It's called HIGH SCHOOL musical! they are now in COLLEGE! they said they want to do another one but they will take in a new cast.. considering Matt Prokop as the new "troy" (playing the part as Jimmie Zara in HSM3), Justin Martin the new "Chad" (playing the role of Donny Dion in HSM3), and Jemma McKenzie-Brown as the new "Sharpay" (playing the part as Tiara Gold in HSM3)
those are just a few of the ones considered for HSM4.. so yea.. it's NOT gonna b with the original cast
(except Ashley may come back as co-president of the drama club again bcuz in HSM3 at the end she volunteered to "come back next year and keep her title as drama "president"" so she's probably gonna come back as a small role)
but yes, there is a strong possibility of HSM4, but NOT with the original stars..

I think you should do HSM4 1,2,and 3, were excellent and I think a college years one would be awesome... I think having troy and gabriella in 2 seperate schools will show that love can last no matter the distance... They are very happy in love and it would be awesome to see them succeed. I also think in time you should do a reunion show with the kids back at the high school doing an awesome show.
there all amazing and in hsm 4 they shouldn't have the original cast in the whole movie but like sharpay will help the drama and ... to see Troy and gabby in different situations would be cool i mean like they show troy driving to gabby's house for her birthday or something and the whole original cast are there sort of thing that would be cool !
